It is neither Vol de Nuit (1), nor Belle de Jour (2), it is only the reconstruction of a “monte alentejano”(3) that insists on staying. The most difficult part was not the construction nor making adobe bricks, but to stare at that smile, “The Smile at the Foot of the Ladder”(4), a ladder that never existed and which we had to invent.
