The Municipal Council of Guimarães intends to install the Historic Centre office (presently Local Technical Office) in a precious burgeois, residence from the 17th., 18th. centuries possibly dating back to the middle ages, located on the Rua Nova.

The building is presently extremely rundown due to having been abandoned for some time and the renovation requires delicate solutions which will call for the dismantling of part of its wooden structure.

The rebirth of this building is the fruit of a meticulous operation where the rear façade is reconstructed and acquires all its original charm deserving the Europa Nostra Award transforming it an example to follow.
